MANILA, Philippines — Footage from a CCTV camera showed the deadly landslide set off by monsoon rains in Cebu Thursday, killing at least 14 people while dozens remain missing.

The CCTV camera footage from a home overlooking the area showed the exact moment when a mass of earth and rock slid down.

The city government has evacuated at least 315 families from the barangays of Tinaan, Mainit, Naalad, Pangdan and Cabungahan.

Emergency workers in helmets and locals with shovels rushed to search for survivors of the new disaster, which happened in the village of Tina-an.

As of 6:30 p.m. authorities said 14 people were confirmed dead, 15 injured and more than 50 still missing, The Freeman reported.

Injured survivors were wheeled into the back of ambulances and the dead were laid on pews at a local church.

Regional authorities said landslides are fairly rare in Cebu.

The tragedy happened just days after a monster typhoon lashed northern Luzon and triggered a separate landslide that left at least 88 people dead. — with Agence France-Presse
