DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Thousands of students have benefited from the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, better known as Republic Act 10931, since President Duterte signed it into law in August last year.

Bulacan State University alone had accommodated around 38,000 students who are getting free education over the past three years. Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go cited RA 10931, which provided free tuition to students nationwide.

Go pointed out that Duterte is merely giving back government money to the people through free education.

RA 10931 provides free education to all students of state universities and colleges.

According to Go, the law had met resistance from some Cabinet members.
