Go visits wounded soldiers in Samar

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go visited wounded soldiers at Camp Lukban Station Hospital in Samar and vowed to facilitate the request for medical equipment for the hospital.

Among the wounded soldiers that Go visited last weekend were Privates First Class Eric Alegria, Sonny Calda and Anthony Palana.

Go handed over financial assistance, a mobile phone, a watch and a gun certificate to Alegria.

Calda and Palana received the same assistance during President Duterte’s visit in Tacloban on June 29. The President also conferred on them the Order of Lapu-Lapu Medal.

Go also promised to facilitate 8th Infantry Division Assistant Commander Brigadier General Eliezer Losanes’ request for medical equipment for Camp Lukban Station Hospital.

After visiting the wounded combatants, Go joined the celebration of the 117th Founding Anniversary of Samar at the Samar provincial covered court in Catbalogan City.

In his speech, Go recognized the vital role that barangay officials play in keeping the country peaceful and progressive, saying they are the frontliners in implementing the policies and programs of government.

He also stressed the importance of the work of barangay officials in fast-tracking the delivery of government services to citizens as well as assisting higher local government officials.

He also urged the local government and barangay officials to continue supporting the President’s  programs against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption, and federalism.
