Duterte flies home for Valentine’s Day
MANILA, Philippines — President Duterte flew to Davao last night to spend Valentine’s Day in his home city.
In his speech during the welcoming rites for repatriated Filipino service workers from Kuwait last night, the President talked about how children bind a couple.
Duterte, who is living with his second partner Honeylet Avaceña, even said there is no verse in the Bible that states it is wrong to have two wives.
“The priest even says, ‘Love God,’ so that makes it three. (Then there is a phrase) ‘Love your neighbor’,” he said, giving a literal meaning to one of the 10 Commandments.
Duterte and Avaceña have a daughter named Veronica, whom they call Kitty.
Duterte asked for greetings of “I love you” from the returning Filipino workers, adding it would be enough for him as he flew back home in the middle of the work week to spend the day with his family.
