Fair weather seen as LPA exits Philippines

Helen Flores - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Fair weather is expected in most parts of the country in the next few days as the low-pressure area and remnant of Tropical Depression Crising has moved away from the country.

“The low-pressure area is no longer directly affecting any part of the country,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

At least nine people died and 73 houses in Cebu were washed away due to heavy rains and floods brought by Crising.

As of 4 p.m. yesterday, the low-pressure area was spotted at 395 kilometers west-southwest of Iba, Zambales.

Meanwhile, the easterlies – warm wind from the Pacific Ocean – were affecting the eastern section of the country, according to PAGASA.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of the country today.

Coastal waters of Luzon and Visayas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, sea conditions will be slight to moderate, PAGASA said.
