MANILA, Philippines - NBA legend Glen Rice and Barangay Ginebra star LA Tenorio conducted a two-hour NBA Cares-Globe Telecom sports clinic for underprivileged kids in line with the first NBA Filipino Heritage Week from March 13-19 this year.
Rice, a three-time All-Star who won the championship with the LA Lakers in 2000, and Tenorio did not only share their expertise with 40 children picked from Globe partner communities and employee volunteers but also inspire them to succeed.
“I knew that the Filipinos are passionate about their basketball and I was expecting kids who are already knowledgeable about the game and I was right,” said Rice.
Tenorio, whose Method Basketball Academy is supported by Globe and TM, said he was honored to be part of the program aimed at helping the kids develop their game.
“I’m just happy to be part of this program by Globe and TM and I hope I’ll be given a chance again to help in the coming years,” said Tenorio.
