MANILA, Philippines — It took 64 years for France to get the crown back after Iris Mittenaere was named the 65th Miss Universe on Monday in Pasay City.
The 24-year-old dentistry student bested 85 candidates to halt France's title drought since 1953 after Christiane Martel won.
Mittenaere was crowned by now former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach.
