MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Education (DepEd), along with partner government agencies, launches today the annual Brigada Eskwela to ensure a smooth opening of classes on June 13.
Education Secretary Armin Luistro yesterday urged all stakeholders, including parents, students and teachers, to take part in the Brigada Eskwela, which will run until June 4.
“Our goal here is to see to it that on June 13, our classrooms are busy with the day’s lesson because the schools have already been prepared,” Luistro said.
“The annual Brigada Eskwela is our version of modern ‘bayanihan’ where all sectors pitch in to make sure that our schools are clean, safe, disaster-prepared and conducive to learning when students troop back to the schools in June,” he added.
