Gordon top pick of absentee voters

MANILA, Philippines – Former senator Richard Gordon is the top choice of local and overseas absentee voters, according to the partial official canvassing of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as National Board of Canvassers.

In a tabulation released by Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon, Gordon got 50,910 votes from the more than 432,706 overseas absentee voters and 19,225 local absentee voters who actually voted.

Panfilo Lacson came in second (49,066); followed by Ralph Recto (44,180); Frank Drilon (42,549); Francisco Pangilinan (42,069); Sergio Osmeña III (41,248); Juan Miguel Zubiri (40,351); Manny Pacquiao (39,721); Vicente Sotto III (38,063); Risa Hontiveros (30,179); Leila de Lima (30,032) and Joel Villanueva (29,628).

Teofisto Guingona III is at 13th place with 28,895 votes.

Party-list

Three migrant groups, on the other hand, are leading 112 other groups in the party-list polls among Filipinos overseas.

These are Acts-Overseas Filipino Workers Coalition of Organization (ACTS-OFW), which took the top slot with 4,365; followed by OFW Family Club Inc. (3,448) and Migrante (2,999).
