MANILA, Philippines - Social media giant Facebook has featured a Philippine-based startup on its business success stories.

Kalibrr, a jobs matching online platform, was recognized by Facebook for Business for effectively using the social media site “to showcase its unique features and encourage the right people to sign up for its service.”

Facebook said Kalibrr was able to reach a wider audience through carousel ads, which enabled them to showcase multiple jobs and product features on the site.

“Kalibrr uses its Facebook page to share recruitment trends, career advice and helpful content from its blog with its audience,” added Facebook.

Launched in 2014, Kalibrr is a cloud-based recruitment solution that matches candidates with the right jobs.

“It tests and trains job seekers and also allows employers and job seekers to contact each other directly through SMS (short message service). Kalibrr aims to transform recruitment in the Philippines,” Facebook said.

Kalibrr earlier tied up with various government agencies to streamline the hiring process in the public service sector.

Among the partner agencies of Kalibrr are the Departments of Education, Social Welfare and Development, Transportation and Communications, Finance, Budget and Management, and Tourism.

Other partners include the Bureau of Local Government Finance, Public-Private Partnership Center of the Philippines, Bureau of Internal Revenue and Civil Service Commission.

The partnership was made possible by the Bagumbayani Initiative, a group of young government employees seeking to entice more young Filipinos to join the government.

According to the initiative, the partnership with Kalibrr has generated around 48,000 applications for 3,800 government jobs in the 10 agencies.
