P-Noy appoints lawyer as COA commissioner

MANILA, Philippines – President Aquino has appointed lawyer Isabel Dasalla-Agito as ad interim commissioner of the Commission on Audit vice Heidi Mendoza, who was named undersecretary general of the United Nation’s Office of Internal Oversight Services last year.

Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. said Agito would be serving a term ending on Feb. 2, 2018.

Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said a transmittal letter would be sent to the Commission on Appointments for Agito’s confirmation.

Agito is a lawyer and certified public accountant. She previously worked as senior external auditor for the UN Board of Auditors and was resident auditor for various government agencies.
