Man, 27, dies during Black Nazarene procession

MANILA, Philippines – One devotee died during the Black Nazarene procession on Saturday.

The 27-year-old man was declared dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Manila, Richard Gordon said on his Twitter account.

 

 

This was despite the efforts of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) team to revive him while on the way to the hospital.

The man had a seizure while resting on the sidewalk, which happened after joining the Black Nazarene procession, reports said.

Earlier, a 50-year-old man died before the procession started. This was after he fainted and hit his head hard on the ground and lost consciousness.

As of the writing of this article, PRC has already assisted 382 patients.

Of the figure, 235 had their blood pressure level monitored.
