Philippines has 25 new courts
MANILA, Philippines - Twenty-five new courts have been created after President Aquino signed five laws amending Batas Pambansa Blg. 129, the Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980.
These are 23 new regional trial court (RTC) branches in Quezon City, San Jose City in Nueva Ecija, Meycauayan City in Bulacan, Guihulngan City in Negros Oriental and Initao town in Misamis Oriental; and two new municipal trial court branches in Cavite.
The laws were enacted last Nov. 20 and published in The STAR yesterday.
Republic Act No. 10704 created 19 additional RTC branches in Quezon City.
RA 10700 and RA 10701 created a new branch each in San Jose City RTC and Initao RTC.
RA 10702 and RA 10703 created a new branch each in Meycauayan RTC and Guihulngan RTC.
Aquino also signed RA 10705 converting the municipal circuit trial court of Carmona-General Mariano Alvarez in Cavite into a municipal trial court in Carmona town and create a new municipal trial court in General Mariano Alvarez town.
Earlier this month, Aquino signed three laws creating nine new RTCs and municipal trial court branches in Pampanga, Bulacan and Baguio City.
