MANILA, Philippines – Former Taiwanese Vice President Vincent Siew on Monday afternoon arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 to represent Chinese Taipei’s Economic Leader at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting this week.
Siew arrived around 1:50 p.m. via China Airlines with his wife Susan Chu.
He was welcomed by Cabinet Secretary Jose Rene Almendras and Manila Economic and Cultural Office chair Amadeo Perez at the airport, among others.
Siew, also known as Siew Wan-Chang, is a Taiwanese politician who served as the vice president of the Republic of China from 2008 to 2012. He is also a former vice-chair of the Kuomintang, the ruling political party in Taiwan.
Chinese Taipei’s representative is scheduled to lead the forum entitled “The Next New Frontier”at the Summit Focus on Innovation and Enterpreneurship along with Colombia President Juan Manuel Santos and Millennium Challenge Corp. CEO Dana Hyde.
Siew’s speech will be held at Makati Shangri-la around 4 to 5:40 p.m.
