Fair weather seen next week

MANILA, Philippines - Apart from isolated light rains, generally fair weather condition is expected to prevail over Metro Manila during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit next week, the state weather bureau said yesterday.

Manny Mendoza, weather forecaster of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), said no tropical cyclone is expected to develop or enter the country next week.

“Partly cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail over Metro Manila,” he said.

However, he said the northeast monsoon could bring isolated light rains over the metropolis.

Mendoza said APEC delegates should also brace for warm and humid weather due to the easterly winds.

“The northeast monsoon is still weak. We could still experience warm and humid weather due to the easterlies,” he said.

The rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms, Mendoza said.
