Noy, Cayetano bury hatchet

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino confirmed yesterday his meeting with Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano on Sept. 23.

Sources said Cayetano apologized to the President during the meeting.

Asked if they had to thresh out personal issues after Cayetano supported then presidential candidate Manuel Villar Jr. in the 2010 elections, Aquino said, “I believe what is past is past. You can no longer change that.”

“Let’s just focus on the present and the future. Maybe we can help each other on that,” Aquino said.

The President refused to disclose what he and Cayetano talked about during the meeting.

“Maybe it would be better for him to explain everything,” he said.
