MANILA, Philippines - The camp of Vice President Jejomar Binay is still in talks with all his prospective running mates for the 2016 national elections.

United Nationalist Alliance spokesperson Mon Ilagan said that the party is set to announce Binay's running mate "within the next few days."

Ilagan noted that UNA would decide based on the commitment of the prospective candidate to the party platform.

Binay earlier revealed that Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Sen. Gregorio "Gringo" Honasan II are among his top choices for his running mate next year.

Honasan clarified that he is not interested in seeking a higher position for the 2016 elections but assured that he will help strengthen UNA.
