Chiz to make political announcement on Thursday

MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero on Tuesday said he will make an announcement on Thursday prompting speculations on the alliance between him and prospective running mate, Sen. Grace Poe.

”Senator Chiz Escudero will make an announcement on September 17, 2015, 10:00 am, at the Kalayaan Hall of Club Filipino,” stated an advisory from Escudero’s office.

Like Escudero, Poe earlier said she will also hold an“important announcement” scheduled 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the University of the Philippines, Bahay ng Alumni in Diliman, Quezon City.

In the 2013 mid-term elections, Escudero served as the campaign manager of Poe where Poe won as the no. 1 senator.

Poe is rumored to declare her presidential bid on her scheduled announcement with Escudero as her vice president.

In the Social Weather Stations's recent presidential and vice presidential surveys, Poe emerged as the top choice while Escudero is also among the leading preferred vice-presidential bets.
