MANILA, Philippines — More than a thousand members of indigenous religious organization Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) held a protest at the Department of Justice building in Manila on Thursday to question the investigation into the alleged detention of some of its former members.

The church members also attempted to block the vehicle of Justice Secretary Leila de Lima as it exited the gate of the building.

According to a STAR source, INC leaders called for an emergency meeting last Wednesday night and directed all church members to gather at the DOJ to hold vigil.
