BOI members get awards for Mamasapano probe

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) has recognized the "invaluable service" of the members of the Board of Inquiry (BOI) who probed the January 25 Mamasapano incident were 70 people, including 44 Special Action Force (SAF) troopers, were killed.
The PNP leadership awarded the Medalya ng Pambihirang Paglilingkod (PNP Special Service Medal) for exceptionally meritorious and invaluable service in the field of police operations to Police Directors Benjamin Magalong, BOI chairman; Catalino Rodriguez, BOI vice-chairman; and Police Chief Superintendent John Sosito, a BOI member.
Meanwhile, other members of BOI awarded with Medalya ng Kasanayan (PNP Efficiency Medal) for exceptionally meritorious and invaluable service rendered that supported the BOI in its fact-finding investigation and circumstances surrounding the encounters in Mamasapano, Maguindanao are the following:
- Senior Superintendent Robert Po, chairman of Operational Audit Team;
- Senior Superintendent Ronald Dela Rosa, member of Operational Audit Team;
- Senior Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, member of Operational Audit Team;
- Senior Superintendent Beningo Duran, member of Operational Audit Team;
- Senior Superintendent Rudy Lacadin, head of BOI report;
- Superintendent Danilo Macerin, head secretariat of BOI;
- Superintendent Arthur Bisnar, security officer of BOI;
- Superintendent Angeles Genorga Jr., secretariat of BOI;
- Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, secretariat of BOI;
- Superintendent Nino David Rabaya, officer in charge investigation Division of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group;
- Chief Inspector David Joy Duarte, secretariat of Operational Audit Team;
- Inspector Helen dela Cruz, secretariat of Operational Audit Team; and
- lawyer Virgilion Pablico, acting chief of the CIDG legal division
