Lacson to Mancao: Tell the truth on Dacer slay

MANILA, Philippines - Former police senior superintendent Cezar Mancao II should tell the truth on the murder of publicist Salvador “Bubby” Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito and put it in an affidavit, former senator Panfilo Lacson said yesterday.

Speaking over radio station dzBB, Lacson said Mancao’s affidavit will unburden the Dacer and Corbito families, who have been suffering and waiting for justice.

“The families (Dacer and Corbito) and I suffered (because of Mancao’s lies),” he said. “As for me, I was able to get out but their families are still suffering. He (Mancao) should tell the truth.” 

Lacson reiterated that he has forgiven Mancao and some officials under the Arroyo administration a long time ago, especially during  the lowest point of his life when he found God.

“It was during those trying times that I learned to worship God,” he said. “And I made a pact with my Creator, I will keep that promise.”

The Court of Appeals has cleared Lacson of any link to the Dacer-Corbito case and the Supreme Court upheld the CA ruling.
