Survivor of sunken ship sent to Philippine Embassy in Vietnam

HO CHI MINH CITY (Xinhua) - The only survivor of sunken cargo ship Bulk Jupiter, was transferred to the Philippine Embassy in Vietnam today in Vung Tau city, Vietnam's southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, according to state-run Vietnam News Agency.

Angelito Capindo Rojas, the ship's chef who is now in stable condition, is the only survivor of the ship so far. The Bahamas nationality ship with 19 members on board sank at 150 nautical miles off Vung Tau southeastern coast on Jan. 2, while carrying iron ores from Malaysia to China.

Maritime rescue forces from Ba Ria-Vung Tau saved the man and recovered two bodies, including the captain, while 16 others were still missing.

The two bodies will be handed over to the Philippine Embassy on Wednesday, said the news agency.
