Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) has approved the request of  Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr.'s former chief of staff to extend visiting hours at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City during New Year's Eve.

Chief Superintendent Alberto Supapo, director of the Headquarters Support Service, approved the extended visiting hours request of  lawyer Richard Cambe, Revilla's co-accused in the plunder and graft cases in the P10-billion pork scam.

Upon Supapo's approval, visiting hours are extended from 5 p.m.on Dec. 31, 2014 until 1 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2015 to allow detainees to spend New Year's Eve with their families.

Supapo said he approved Cambe's request for extended visiting hours for "humanitarian reason and in the observance of the Yuletide Season."

The detainees, through their respective building representatives, formally requested the Chief of the Custodial Service Unit, Chief Inspector Stephen Daang last December 24 for extension of the regular visiting hours on Christmas and New Year.

However, due to time constraints, the request for extended visiting hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas day was not granted.

Regular visiting hours at the PNP Custodial Center are 1 p.m.  to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays; and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
