Coldest so far: 19.4ºC in Metro
MANILA, Philippines - The state weather bureau recorded yesterday the coldest temperature so far in Metro Manila since the northeast monsoon season started in October.
The lowest temperature in the metropolis was registered at 19.4 degrees Celsius at the Science Garden in Quezon City at 6:30 a.m., according to Rene Paciente, senior weather forecaster of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Baguio City experienced one of its coldest mornings yesterday at 12 degrees Celsius.
Paciente said the northeast monsoon would continue to bring cold weather in the country until February.
PAGASA senior weather forecaster Robert Sawi said this year, the coldest temperature recorded in Metro Manila was at 15.8 degrees Celsius last January.
Paciente also said most parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, would continue to experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains until Christmas due to the northeast monsoon.
A trough of a low-pressure area, spotted east of Mindanao, would also bring isolated rains over the Visayas and Mindanao.
