Sandigan guard probed for soliciting money from Janet’s lawyer

Michael Punongbayan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - For allegedly soliciting money from a lawyer of alleged pork barrel scam brains Janet Lim-Napoles for a bogus Christmas party, a Sandiganbayan security guard was placed under investigation and faces disciplinary action for his misconduct.

In a report submitted to presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang and Associate Justice Samuel Martires, chair of the anti-graft court’s committee on safety and security, fellow security personnel denounced the acts allegedly committed by Security Guard 1 (SG1) Ronald Allan Gole Cruz last week.

“Madam, we are bringing this matter to your attention because we know that it is our moral obligation to do so, and matters like this could destroy the reputation not only of our division, but also the integrity of the Sandiganbayan that we serve,” Security Officers Darwin Trinidad and Rodelio Lalongisip said.

“We are praying that this matter be given due course, for we cannot afford to let one rotten tomato destroy the image of the entire security force,” they said in the report dated Dec. 3, 2014 that also signed by seven other security personnel, a copy of which was obtained by The STAR yesterday.

According to the report, SG2 Rosita Doming brought to the attention of the security officers the money allegedly received by Gole Cruz from Stephen David, the lead lawyer of Napoles, who is facing trial for plunder before the Sandiganbayan.
