‘Kris Aquino’s son may also become president’
MANILA, Philippines - Will the son of presidential sister Kris Aquino follow the footsteps of his grandmother and uncle as president of the country?
Sen. Juan Edgardo Angara is not discounting the possibility that seven-year-old James Aquino-Yap, more popularly known as “Bimby,” may become president about 35 years from now.
Angara spoke about “President Bimby” during the 52nd annual meeting of the Philippine Economic Society on Friday when he related how he hopes that the country would have a better, more stable economy when his youngest son Javier reaches the age of 38 in 2050.
“2050 is a very far away place. My three-year-old son Javier will be 38 years old by then, probably married with kids. Hopefully, fulfilling my dream of being a professional basketball player,” said Angara, who sees himself as a 77-year-old still alive and married by that time.
“Millenials will be running the country, perhaps President Bimby can tell us something more about that,” Angara said, noting that Generation X would be senior citizens by then while baby boomers won’t be around.
