The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Police have launched a search for Camarines Norte Gov. Edgardo Tallado’s wife and her friend who were reported missing Friday night.

An ABS-CBN report said Tallado’s wife, Josie, and her companion Darlene Francisco, left for Vinzon town Friday afternoon to meet some village officials in Labo town but failed to return home.

Tallado said his wife called a police officer at about 3 p.m. asking for a security escort. Nothing was heard from her since then, the governor said.

Police found their vehicle, a black Toyota Fortuner, abandoned in Barangay Napulidan, Camarines Sur at around 9 a.m. Saturday. A burned umbrella was found inside the vehicle.

Police regional director Chief Superintendent Victor Deona has formed a special investigation team to find the missing women.
