MANILA, Philippines - No weather disturbance is expected in the next few days, aside from isolated thunderstorms.
Rene Paciente and Robert Sawi, senior weather forecasters of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), said no tropical cyclone is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the remaining days of September.
Paciente told The STAR they no longer expect the entry of a tropical cyclone in the remaining days of the month based on the numeral weather prediction output.
“We expect good weather aside from isolated thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening,” he said.
Sawi said southern Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao will have scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in the next three days due to wind convergence.
PAGASA said moderate to occasionally strong winds will prevail over Luzon and coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough.
The rest of the country will have slight to moderate seas.
Paciente said tropical storm Kammuri spotted over the Pacific Ocean was not expected to affect the country.
As of yesterday morning, Kammuri was 1,500 kilometers away from the Philippine area of responsibility, PAGASA forecaster Gladys Saludes said.
