MANILA, Philippines - Detained lawyer Jessica Lucila "Gigi" Reyes, the former chief of staff of Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile, will undergo next week a brain scan at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) in Manila after accidentally hitting her head on the wall of her detention cell in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
Reyes is a co-accused in the plunder and graft charges against Enrile in connection with the P10-billion pork barrel scam.
The Sandiganbayan granted the request of Reyes's legal counsels to allow her to undergo a magnetic resonance imaging/magnetic resonance angiogram at a hospital due to the accident.
In a resolution, the anti-graft court's Third Division, chaired by Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang, ordered the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to Bring Reyes to the PGH on Monday, September 15 around 3 p.m. to undergo the medical procedure.
Reyes reportedly accidentally banged her head on the wall of her cell after suffering an anxiety attack. She has been earlier diagnosed as having a mixed anxiety disorder.
