Pastor wife insists alleged lover is just a friend
MANILA, Philippines - Despite rumors that she is engaged in an illicit affair, the wife of slain international car racer Ferdinand “Enzo” Pastor reportedly told the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) that she and her alleged lover, businessman Domingo “Sandy” de Guzman III, were just friends.
In her three-page sworn affidavit, 28-year-old Dalia Guerrero-Pastor told the NBI-Anti-Organized Transnational Crime Division-Death Investigation Unit (AOTCD-DIU) that she and Pastor consider De Guzman as their friend.
De Guzman has been tagged as the one who hired the gunman that shot dead Pastor last June 12 in Quezon City.
Dalia gave her statement to the NBI last July 2, but the affidavit was only made public yesterday.
When asked if she has a “love relationship” with De Guzman, she had said, “He is our friend.”
When asked if De Guzman ever visited her in their house in Makati City, she reportedly replied, “He went to my birthday party celebrated in my residence at that time in San Antonio Village in Makati in September 2012.”
When asked if he ever went to their current house in Galleria de Magallanes in Makati City, she only said, “It is possible.”
She also could not recall when was the last time she saw De Guzman.
De Guzman is one of the principal suspects in the murder of Pastor, while Dalia is facing parricide charges.
De Guzman and Dalia will also face a related charge for frustrated murder since Pastor’s assistant, Paolo Salazar, was wounded in the incident.
The self-confessed gunman in the Pastor killing who tagged the two, Police Officer 2 Edgar Angel, had earlier recanted his confession that De Guzman hired him to kill Pastor.
Angel, who was arrested last Aug. 23 during an illegal drugs entrapment operation in Libis, Quezon City, earlier confessed to the police that De Guzman paid him P100,000 to kill Pastor.
