Ex-Napoles employee: Revilla staff got commissions for him
MANILA, Philippines - A former employee of businesswoman Janet Napoles said a staff of Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr. was the one who had been getting the commissions from the projects for him.
Merlina Sunas, ex-project coordinator of Napoles, testified before the First Division of the Sandiganbayan that it was lawyer Richard Cambe who had been getting the rebates for Revilla.
During the direct examination, Sunas told the tribunal that she saw on two occasions Cambe going to the JLN office in Pasay to get the money.
The first time she saw Cambe was in 2006 when he got at least P5 million given by Benhur Luy and Napoles, Sunas said.
The second occasion was in 2008 when Cambe received the same amount, she added.
She said the money came from the vault which Luy had access to. The two other vaults were accessed by Napoles and her nephew John Lim, Sunas said.
She also testified that she only saw Revilla once during a death anniversary of one of the parents of napoles.
Like Luy, also a whistleblower in the plunder case against revilla, Sunas admitted she likewise got P4-5 million in commissions for the ghost deliveries in her 12 year tenure with napoles.
"Ang napagusapan po namin ay 1 percent ng projects pero di 'yun nasusunod. Kung ano ibigay ni Ma'am Jennie sa amin ay tinatanggap na namin. Di na kami nagrereklamo," she said.
