MANILA, Philippines - The Sandiganbayan on Tuesday served the 90-day suspension order against Sen. Jinggoy Estrada in connection with the plunder and graft charges he is facing before the anti-graft court.
Lawyer Ma. Teresa Pabulayan, the clerk of court of Sandiganbayan's 5th Division, said the suspension order will arrive at the Senate in Pasay City within the day.
Pabulayan said the suspension order was supposed to be delivered to the Senate on Monday but their messenger was not able to report for work.
"Dapat nga sabay 'yung suspension order ni Senator (Juan Ponce) at Senator (Jinggoy) Estrada pero nagkaproblema dahit nagkasakit yung magdadala ng order," Pabulayan said.
The Senate leadership on Monday implemented the suspension order against Enrile after the 3rd Division of the Sandiganbayan junked his appeal.
The Sandiganbayan has yet to rule on the motion of reconsideration of Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr. on his suspension.
The three senators are all facing plunder and graft charges in connection with the P10-billion pork barrel scam.
