Pagasa: Rains to continue in Luzon

Ghio Ong, Helen Flores - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A low-pressure area left the Philippine area of responsibility yesterday but rains will continue over some parts of Luzon, the state weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will persist over the Ilocos region and the provinces of Palawan and Mindoro due to the trough of the low-pressure area.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The low-pressure area was spotted at 255 kilometers west of Laoag City as of 8 a.m. yesterday.

PAGASA said no tropical cyclone is expected to enter the country this week.
