Noy proud of achievements
MANILA, Philippines - If there is one legacy that President Aquino wants to leave Filipinos, it will be an efficient government and a good foundation for the next administration.
As the Aquino government marked its fourth year in office last Monday, the President said yesterday it gives him “pride” to discuss his administration’s achievements, noting they are significant as they would lay down a good foundation for the next president.
“If there is a singular legacy that I am leaving, I hope (it is) to make the people get used to what a government that is being run efficiently can do. And whoever will succeed us, of course… this will be the platform, this is the base from where (the next administration) will begin,” Aquino told reporters in an ambush interview following the celebration of the 67th anniversary of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) at Air Force City in Clark Air Base, Pampanga.
“If we’re the ones who sow, others will reap, that’s okay. But they will start from a higher level, so maybe the people can expect that they can reach farther,” he added.
Aquino noted that his administration has accomplished much in the last four years.
The President said he might sound like a broken record, but the clearest examples are the investments in education, particularly the K-12 program and other school needs and facilities which were finally provided to students.
