DSWD warns public of 4Ps text scams
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Monday warned the public against text scams using the government's conditional cash transfer program.
The DSWD said it has no raffle promo under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or known as 4Ps which provides cash assistance to poor families to ensure their education, health, and supply of their nutrition needs.
Reports reaching the DSWD said that the text message comes from a certain Lyka Ramirez using the mobile number 0926-9124816.
The text message, "Congratulations, from President Noy-Noy Aquino Foundation 4Ps Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, your sim # won P950,000 as second prize winner in the Handog Pangkabuhayan raffle promo per DTI Permit No. 9513, series of 2013. Please call me now, I am Lyka Ramirez."
The DSWD calls on all those who will receive this text message not to respond, instead, immediately report this to the nearest DSWD office or text to the Pantawid Pamilya Grievance text hotline: 0918-912-2813.
The department has issued earlier warnings to take precaution and not to fall prey of the fraudulent text messages.
