(UPDATE) Truck falls into ravine, killing 4 in Laguna

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - A truck fell into a ravine in Laguna today, killing four construction workers and injuring six others, local police said.

Two of the fatalities died on the spot while the other two died in hospital, said Laguna provincial police chief Romulo Sapitula.

The truck's driver, Domingo Arsolazo, was among those injured, he added.

Sapitula said the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. near Dalitiwan Spring resort in Ilayang Banga village of Laguna, when the driver lost control of the truck and the truck fell into an eight-foot ravine.

According to witnesses, the truck was running at high speed when the incident occurred.
