Cedric, 4 others placed on SPD’s wanted list

MANILA, Philippines - Businessman Cedric Lee and four others accused by actor Vhong Navarro of grave coercion have been placed on the wanted list of the Southern Police District (SPD), a police official said yesterday.

Chief Superintendent Jose Erwin Villacorte, SPD director, said the Taguig City Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) had issued warrants for the arrest of Lee, his sister Bernice, Simeon “Zimmer” Raz, Jose Paolo Calma and Ferdinand Guerrero after they failed to post bail.

“We will serve the warrants if the accused are located in our jurisdiction,” Villacorte told The STAR.

He said they received copies of the arrest order last week.

Two other accused, Deniece Cornejo and Jed Fernandez, had posted bail for their temporary freedom.

Cornejo and Fernandez each posted P12,000 bail at the Taguig MTC Branch 74 for the grave coercion charges.

Villacorte said all warrants of arrest issued by the courts are automatically registered with the Philippine National Police’s computerized list of wanted persons.

Lee, Cornejo and the other accused are facing a separate case of serious illegal detention, which is non-bailable, before the Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 271.

The Taguig RTC and MTC had earlier issued a gag order on the grave coercion and serious illegal detention cases filed against the accused.
