Cheapest place to get your McDo meal from? Philippines, says report

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines is where you will find the cheapest combo meal at McDonald's or other fast food chains, a report by the Global Post said.

According to the Global Post's "Here are the cheapest and most expensive places in the world to get your vice on", a combo meal at McDonald's in the Philippines would only cost $2.13, the cheapest.  In comparison, those in Norway would pay $11.46 for a McDonald's combo meal, the most expensive in the world.

The second-cheapest fast food combo meal is in Indonesia at $2.26, followed by India's $2.36 and Laos' $2.40, respectively. Other cheapest places to get your McDonald's meal from are  Malaysia, $2.46; Vietnam, $2.77; Macao and Hong Kong, $2.82.

Meanwhile, other most expensive places for a McDonald's meal are Venezuela, $10.96; Switzerland, $10.66; Israel, $9.35; Denmark, $8.71; Iceland, $8.52; Luxembourg, $8.40; and France, $8.

The Global Post said its source of data on  the prices of fast food meals is Numbeo, a "crowd-sourced cost collector"

The Philippines, the report added, is also the fifth cheapest country to get your pack of cigarettes from, sold at $1.11 here.  The cheapest country to get your Marlboros from is Pakistan at $1.02, followed by Vietnam's $1.04, Nicaragua's $1.10; and Cambodia's $1.10.

On the other hand, Australia is where smokers would have to shell out the biggest amount for their cigarettes at $16.23 for a pack of 20s.

Meanwhile, citing data from the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime, the Global Post said the Philippines is the fifth most expensive place for meth  (shabu) at $214.10 per gram. Australia is the most expensive place to obtain meth from at $641.40 per gram.  Laos, meanwhile, is said to be the cheapest place to buy meth from at $1 per gram.

The report also listed the cheapest and most expensive places for  vices such as cannabis, cocaine, MDMA (Ecstasy), heroin, domestic beer, bottle of wine, cappuccino, and Coke or Pepsi.
