Phl has 23,?153 new teachers
MANILA, Philippines - Graduates of the University of the Philippines, Central Mindanao University and Xavier University topped the licensure examination for teachers, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday.
PRC said a total of 23,153 examinees, composed of 11,120 elementary teachers and 12,033 secondary teachers, passed the licensure examination.
Deidre Morales of UP and Eduard Pagtulon-An of Central Mindanao University led the 42,358 secondary teachers who took the examination with a grade of 88.40 percent.
Another UP graduate Zarina Villadolid placed second with a grade of 88.20 percent followed by Ateneo de Manila University’s Francis Dianne Lucido in third place with 88 percent.
Fourth placers were Central Philippine University graduate Marian Mie Alimo-Ot and De La Salle University’s Ace Sandigan, both with a grade of 87.60 percent.
Central Colleges of the Philippines’ Ramon Cristobal ranked fifth with a grade of 87.20 percent while another Ateneo graduate Kathleen Lantin placed sixth with a score of 87 percent.
Paul Christopher Cheng of Ateneo and Jennifer Grecia of UP shared the seventh spot with a grade of 86.80 percent while Capitol University graduate Lecimar Esdrelon and University of Santo Tomas’ Teresa Limpin and University of the East graduate Hilario Salamida shared eighth place with a score of 86.60 percent.
Ninth placers were Saint Louis University graduate Albert Bayawa II and UP graduate Zaidi Ong as both scored 86.40 percent.
