STAR partners with Easy Taxi

MANILA, Philippines - Quite literally, it’s another way for commuters to enjoy “news on the go” as Easy Taxi, the world’s largest taxi booking app, launches the “Easy Library” in partnership with The Philippine STAR.

With the tie-up, Easy Taxi passengers get access to the day’s issue of The STAR, which it is making available as an onboard amenity starting today.

“We always strive to give passengers the best experience whenever they ride a taxi in any part of the world,” shared Easy Taxi regional marketing director Mario Berta. Currently, Easy Taxi operates in 23 countries and over 100 cities around the world.

Berta noted that although they managed to garner the attention of several other national dailies, The STAR was specifically chosen due to the paper’s strong brand and wide reach.

“We rolled out the same concept in about 15 countries and the feedback was very good. As a global company present everywhere in the world, we want our passenger to benefit from the same customer experience,” Berta added.

According to Daniel Torres, Easy Taxi vice-president for business development, Easy Library is just one of the many things Easy Taxi Philippines has lined up for Filipino commuters. 

“Besides assuring safety and great customer service to all our users, we are constantly innovating and looking for ways to improve their experience. We don’t do this alone. Our network of drivers makes sure everything goes well, and their response has been amazing,” he said.

Easy Taxi, a mobile application launched locally in July 2013, is a product of Berlin-based Rocket Internet, which allows smartphone users to hail cabs using their phones. Easy Taxi currently enjoys wide popularity in Brazil, Colombia and South Korea, among 20 other countries, with the app having crossed the two-million global download threshold.

The R&E taxi brand comprises the flagship partner of Easy Taxi in the Philippines, with more units set for acquisition and partnership.

“Always expect the best service possible from Easy Taxi. The Philippines can be a challenging market due to traffic and infrastructure, but we’ll always try to deliver the best,” Berta said, adding that they have lined up monthly promotions for their passengers.
