Noy lauds dedicated PSG members
MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino paid tribute to men and women in government working behind the scenes, like members of the Presidential Security Group whom he has always treated as colleagues in public service and not as subordinates.
Speaking at the PSG’s 28th anniversary celebration on Friday, Aquino said the 15,000 to 20,000-strong Presidential Security Command (PSC) during the time of President Ferdinand Marcos was very different from the selfless PSG members of today numbering 1,000 to 2,000.
He said that when the Marcos regime ended, members of the PSC took everything they could as they left their camp.
Aquino described the looting as something similar to a storm that hit the camp coupled with an earthquake, a tornado and volcanic eruption. He said even jalousies and doorknobs disappeared, along with the trees, as some of the PSC men claimed they owned them because they planted them.
