LTFRB: Ill-fated bus might be owned by Dagupan Bus Line

Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Thursday found that the Florida bus which figured in the fatal crash in Mt. Province last week might be owned by another bus firm.

Aside from GV Florida bus and Mt. Province Cable Tours Inc., LTFRB executive director Robert Cabrera said that upon verification from their office at the Cordillera Administrative Region, the engine and chassis number of the ill-fated bus was traced to Dagupan Bus Line.

"The Florida bus... may be owned by Dagupan Bus Line upon  checking and verification with our CAR office, the chassis and engine number...We are now more than two bus companies," Cabrera told reporters.

With the new development, he said they will now include the Dagupan bus management in the probe scheduled on Feb. 19 into the accident.

"Kung totoo na nabili na ng Florida ang Dagupan, we were never informed on this...ang akala namin Mt. Province Cable Tours lang," Cabrera said.

"We will start over again. We still have to dig deeper... Baka lumabas na may documentation sila," he said.
