MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - Five people died and 28 others were wounded when a jeepney fell into a canal in Abra last night, police told media today.
The driver was among those injured, Cordillera regional police spokesman Davy Vicente Limmong said.
"(It was) negotiating a sharp curve when allegedly its brake malfunctioned and fell into a one-meter canal and (rested) on its side," said Limmong.
Limmong said police were probing into the accident.
