MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno Aquino III has accepted the resignation of Strategic Communication Secretary Ricky Carandang, Malacañang said Thursday.
At a televised perss briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said Carandang's resignation will be effective December 31, 2013.
Lacierda said Carandang will return to the private sector after a short vacation.
He did not mention the reason for Carandang's resignation.
Undersecretary Manolo Quezon will oversee the Presidential Communications Operations Office.
