Cops warned against soliciting Christmas gifts

MANILA, Philippines - Policemen are warned against soliciting gifts and goods from business establishments this Yuletide season, Philippine National Police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac said yesterday.

Sindac also urged the public to be wary of scams as unscrupulous individuals might take advantage of the season.

“With the coming Christmas season, criminals would come up with scams and other false extortion activities. The public should report such incidents to the nearest police station,” he said.

The PNP official said some individuals would disguise themselves as policemen and sell tickets at exorbitant price.
