MANILA, Philippines - Three Filipino nationals were injured in an accident involving a TurboJet ferry bound for Macau before weekend, the Department of Foreign Affairs said yesterday.

Citing a report from the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong, Foreign Affairs spokesman Raul Hernandez said the special administrative region’s authorities confirmed that three Filipinos were injured in the accident last Friday at 1:20 a.m.

Hernandez said 85 passengers were injured, three of them seriously, when the TurboJet ferry allegedly hit an unidentified object near Hei Ling Chau in Lantau Island while en route to Macau.

“The Filipino nationals were only slightly injured and have already been discharged from hospital,” Hernandez said in a text message.
