Oil firms hike pump prices

MANILA, Philippines - Three oil companies increased prices of petroleum products yesterday except in provinces affected by the recent calamities.

Petron Corp., PTT Philippines and Total Philippines raised prices of gasoline by 45 centavos per liter and diesel by 70 centavos per liter.

“Petron will implement the price adjustment except in Samar, Leyte, Aklan and Bohol to reflect movements in the international oil market,” it said.

PTT said its station in Cebu would not be covered by the price hike as the province is still recovering from the Oct. 15 earthquake.

Total Philippines said its outlets in Cebu City, Liloan and Bogo, also in Cebu, are excluded from the price adjustment.

This is the second week in a row that oil firms jacked up prices. Last Nov. 19, oil companies raised gasoline prices by P1.10 per liter.
