Damayan donations for typhoon victims reach P4.7 M

MANILA, Philippines - More donations intended for relief operations in areas devastated by Typhoon Yolanda continued to pour in yesterday, The Philippine STAR’s Operation Damayan reported.

Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, social arm of P.J. Lhuillier Inc., raised its total donation to P400,000 following an additional P150,000 donated by Cebuana Lhuillier vice president Andre Lhuillier.

Damayan also received donations of P100,000 each from Primal Enterprises and E.J. Litton Foundation Inc., and P50,000 each from J.P. Kaizen Credit Corp., James & Pauline of Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya and Travel Sure Plus.

Other donors include: East Lane Corp., P30,000; Mr. Cua, P30,000; S.L. Search Corp., P15,000; E.M., P6,000; Perla and Ed de Lara, P5,235; Tony Katigbak, P5,000; Joey & Gina Alvero, P5,000; Dimalanta Teves family, P3,000; Atty. & Mrs. Romualdo A. Din Jr., P2,000; Julie Barnachea, P2,000; and Felicitas Camerino, P1,000.

The new batch of donations to Damayan raises the total amount received for victims displaced by Typhoon Yolanda to P4.7 million. Damayan, which is actively involved in social welfare projects funded by donors, is looking to conduct relief operations in hard-hit areas early next week.
