MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) said Saturday that it will remain on full alert status until after the completion of election security operations on October 30.
The PNP raised the full alert status at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Under a full alert status all unit commanders are ordered to secure all PNP camps and offices, vital installations, economic key points and places of convergence of people, and perform election duties –competently and objectively.
PNP units are also to maximize the effective strength of police personnel for election duty, and the cancellation of leaves of absence with all personnel required to report to their duty stations.
PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac said personnel from the Police Regional Offices (PROs) 4A, 5, 8,10, 11, 12, 13 and the ARMM who are undergoing Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) will be deployed in the ARMM to serve as Special Board of Election Tellers (SBETs) during the barangay polls tomorrow.
The PNP said PRO4A deployed 361 personnel for Maguindanao, while PRO9 deployed 300 personnel for Sulu.
Meanwhile, 144 personnel of PRO10, 204 personnel of PRO11, and 199 personnel of PRO12 were deployed for Lanao del Sur.
