PDEA agents seize P78-M shabu from Tsinoy
MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has arrested a suspected Chinese-Filipino pusher during a buy-bust operation in the red-light district Manila.
PDEA Director General Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Antonio Uy, 62, a businessman and resident of No. 732 Elcano Street, Binondo, Manila.
Cacdac said Uy was arrested during a buy-bust operation in front of the Ramon Magsaysay Tower along Roxas Boulevard in Malate district, Manila on Wednesday.
Uy sensed the buy-bust operation and tried to escape on board a Toyota Camry (ZBG-553), but he was eventually arrested after a brief car chase.
The operatives seized 15 kilograms of shabu worth at least P78 million from the suspect's possession.
Charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect.
